MDA EUROPE MDA Europe is a european fundraiser located in The Netherlands. Every year our volunteers visit several Harley Davidson events in the European Community to raise funds for muscular dystrophy associations in the EU. Over the last few years we were able to donate tens of thousands of euro's to different Muscular Dystrophy Associations in Europe. Fundraising is done by selling pins at events, selling die-cast Harley-Davidson models, collecting donations. We also have several official Harley-Davidson dealers sell the pins and the money raised is presented to muscular dystrophy associations within that particular EU country. History of MDA Europe While organizing a Harley-Davidson rally in 2002 we were looking for a charity fund and having read about the cooperation between Harley-Davidson and MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) we decided to do fund raising for MDA. Since there wasn't any local or European organization in place for MDA, we thought about founding our own foundation because the Harley-Davidson Motor Company was doing a great job in the USA and we thought the European continent couldn't stay behind.
After talking to John Russell, President of Harley-Davidson Europe and Willie G. Davidson (who doesn't know this guy?) at the Open Road Tour in Barcelona we got the go-ahead and the MDA Foundation Europe was a fact. Our first fund-raising was at the H.O.G. Benelux rally 2004 in The Hague, Netherlands. Goal of MDA Europe Our goal is to do fund-raising for MDA within the European Community on all official Harley-Davidson rallies and events and the money is spent within your country. All fund-raising is done with the approval of Harley-Davidson Europe and the Harley-Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee, USA.
We're affiliated to Harley-Davidson, the Harley-Davidson Motor Company and the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.), we do have a very good relation with them. If you or your local H.O.G.
